While I’m using Ground Venison in this recipe, any ground meat would work perfectly well. Venison has just become a staple in our home in spite of my first reaction to it so many years ago (you can read all about that in my blog).
Brown ground burger and add chopped onion, bell peppers, garlic, salt and pepper. Sauté together until vegetables are tender.
Add the Sauce and Tortelloni.
Add two sauce jars full of water – or 6 cups of water, and bring to a simmer.
Allow to simmer with lid on for approx. 15 minutes, stirring occasionally.
(Cooking the tortelloni in the simmering sauce captures the starches
released by the pasta, thickening the entire dish.)
While the pasta is simmering, remove label from sauce jar, use soapy steel-wool pad to scrub glue off of glass jar and place in dishwasher. There are so many uses for the jars we throw away, including home canning (yes, CANNING!). In other blogs I’ll discuss using these jars in canning your own food, saving you money in canning supplies.
Sprinkle some grated cheese on top and enjoy!
Beautiful and yummy!
